| Loss of Life and Limb
Hurricane Irene passed through Dover on the night of August 27th. While many in the Delmarva peninsula experienced significant damage and flooding, much of Dover was spared. First Baptist had prepared for the storm, clearing all storm drains, so there was no interior flooding or damage to the building. Outside, however, strong winds caused a large limb to break from one of the beautiful maple trees on the front property. Dover emergency crews quickly cut branches that had extended across the sidewalk and into Walker Road. We're thankful that no greater damage occurred. |
